Kanton6: Plage De La Ville [pmgtanz 009] 2020

You always find someone behind an idea, or a movement. This people you find 3 decades behind, fueling electronic dance revolution & continuum in Skopje, Macedonia. Kanton6 and PMG Kolektiv are basically two faces of the same coin, but do not, i repeat: do not try to byte that coin. It might just break your teeth, as it is breaking the teeth of mediocrity, complacency and fakeness of the macedonian dance scene as much as to this country social life in general. The best thing you could do is try and use one of this layered (not only) dance floor weapons as a special ingredient in you respected sets. Intelligent dj will know what i mean. This is not your regular professional floor filler production, but you can easily use it at the moment the euforia begins. Take it.

Aleksandar Veliki: Tanz [pmgtanzd 008] 2020

Thee Macedonians are not nice people. You might just heard of their worm welcome and thought they have some real nice organic tomatoes to taste… but here is the harsh truth: They’re not nice. They have big cocks and they’ll fuck your wife. They’re gonna get you high on their newly legalised marijuana and will steal your dancing shoes. They already stole your voice, so you can not sing. Just try, you can not. So they dance and sing and they make beautiful music, so at least you can dance the fuck to it. Here we go:
We have Alexander the Great here, providing an almost radio friendly electro cut with his rough vocals and truely emotional edge. It’s just pitty you don’t understand macedonian lenguage, since you could cry to this one. Crying while dancing… sexy, eh?
Kanton6 are using few of their familliar moves, taking the electro base of the original and putting it proper on the dance floor. This cut has almost an old school taste to it and will shorely move any dance floor edging towards an electro aristocracy glamour.
Dj Magija, increasingly active and effective of lately, are providing slow burning jam that will get everyyone going in the club, as soon as the clubs get to go off. Reliable stuff. Quality stuff. Macedonians, you know…

Vaxine 313: Sitting Party Culture [pmgtanzd 007] 2020

The musical experience over the years as promoters and DJs in the various electronic styles that Mitrik and LTX have gone through, brought them together to create a music project called Vaxine 313, which makes you immune to the current lack of global dance events problem by going back to just listening. Their debut ‘Sitting Party Culture’ designed for these hectic times describes the only possible parties today. It sounds housey with atmospheric pads and vocals and a groovy bassline. So we expect a lot more interesting music from these guys.

Andreja Salpe is the person behind PMG Tanz Digital who’s involved in the electronic duos BarumBarum and Dj Magija. Taking the building blocks out of the original and adding his own point of view of contemporary electronic music, he gives us a whimsical remix containing new rhythmical and melodic elements and using ASMR through the track.

The second remixer is Hendrik Thomas, a DJ and producer based in Cologne, Germany. He’s a promising artist who’ll be included in PMG Tanz Digital’s future discography. Co-founder of the Phonophil DJ-Collective in Siegen and member of the live-techno project ‘Raised by Machines’, his remix sounds like original German techno, a banger which can be used as great DJ tool with a lot of character.

BarumBarum: Rave Ambient [pmgtanzd 006] 2020

Following the success of their release for Amsterdam based Sinchi Collective, where they were remixed by Khidja and SHMLSS, we have last year’s breakthrough BarumBarum with their disco banger ‘RaveAmbient’ and two remixes by Ljubljana based artist Vitorijoski and Galatheia, their local collaborator.

‘RaveAmbient’ is a disco banger with an authentic old school trance vibe. Having a rich tapestry of ambience sounds and a deep pounding baseline, it makes for an energetic bout of nostalgia reminiscent of the rave era. To top things off, there’s an industrial edginess to the vocals, making the matter at hand an unexpected love song.

The first remixer is an artist released by Ombra International, Invisible, inc. and Inverted Audio. Vitorijoski produces a steady and masterful remix, keeping the theme but slowing the pace and calming the features of this banger down to a sophisticated finish.

Avoiding the dance floor altogether, Galatheia takes the rave out of ‘RaveAmbient’ and rearranges it into an anthem out of her own secret sanctuary. Here we have an artistic rendering of the original, taking only the lyrics for guidance and composing the rest as a mantra around them.

about

‘Zalez’ (‘sunset’) is debut EP from Skopje based duo DJ Magija. Already experienced in music production, BarumBarum’s Andreja Salpe and Galatheia give you a laid back and thoughtful quarantine composed release that tends to make you forget what a terrible year we’ve had. Three tracks form the characteristic ebb and flow of this EP, bringing about an atmosphere that feels like the sun bleeding into the sublime vast ocean that we all share.

Aleksandar Veliki: 21vek [pmgtanzd 004] 2020

Well, we’re enjoying every single moment of the 21st century, so far. It’s the best century ever! Thee Pop Culture is dead. The e idiots are ruling the world. Yo stupid cousin is influencing youth on Instagram. Yo mom is dead. And thee MACEDONIANS are providing the soundtrack. Things have never been better. Having said this, i invite you to check our music out for more Macedonian mumbo jumbo, as well as a slamming breakbeat club banger.

Galatheia: Decata [pmgtanzd 003] 2020

This might come from a dream, or a hazy sunday morning filled with false promise. No matter how we put it, this song has a hidden healing power. Message of a distant hope that can surround oneself, cocoon him in cotton wool and transport him as far as the bathroom, so he can clean himself. In other words: “she would have liked to wake up from her somnambulism to find herself back in bed”…

Robotek: Re:Cycled [pmgtanzd 002] 2019

Robotek is a living legend among Macedonians. A true, modern day living legend. It is epic all around, contemporary drama with the coolest beats in town. Hee:Story chapter started on an Atari perhaps, transgressing to real deal, free flowing electricity in a mad scientist laboratory, politely asking to lay down your life in the name of modern electronics. You can find yourself living in a club, or you can find yourself living in a bulb….Don’t do that without your Robotek.

VA: PMG Tanz Digital Volume 1 [pmgtanzd 001] 2019

Under the warm, southern skies of Macedonia, in the valleys and mountains of this land, people voiced their heart in song. These songs sing about the woes and joys of life. They are the soft, hushed longings for beauty, but also cries for battle, as the lives of these people were often eclipsed by the tyranny of the oppressor.
